My 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Wishlist

By now, I can assume you’ve already browsed the Nordstrom sale and know what you’re buying or not. Truth be told, I used to be way more into the NSALE years ago. Like, it was an event in my family. My mom, sister, and I would decide on a day, set up an appointment, and go browse it all in person. The last few years, though, the sale has left a lot to be desired. Nothing is mind blowing, but I think that’s the point of the sale? This is a summer into fall transitional sale to whet your whistle for the new season around the corner. It gives you the chance to buy a few staple items that you can style 100 different ways from now until next year and beyond!

I’m fully aware that a lot of items on my wishlist are already sold out, which is the biggest gripe I have with the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I’m not sure how I feel about things being tiered—I mean, I get it. But make enough for all of us peasants who can’t shop it right away?!?! Regardless, here are my top picks and what I may or may not add to cart come tomorrow morning (Monday, August 10).

SHOES

I’ve been waiting to get these Marc Fisher booties for so long, that I may end up getting the taupe and black. For $99, I feel I can justify that. As for sneakers, I don’t own a pair of Vejas and the green ones are being really flirty with me. I love the velcro ones, too though. Why aren’t velcro shoes more on trend?! They’re so convenient. I LOVE my Nike blazers, and the fun pops of colors on these sale ones is so happy. They look like a Starburst, which is one of my favorite color combos.

HOME & MEN

A random pairing, but I almost forgot to include the best throw blanket EVER (it comes in 29345 colors and is soft as butter), this amazing set of Le Labo votive candles in the Santal 26 scent, and this cute ass Henley tee as well as these $70 chic ass Chelsea boots for your man! Whew. I feel better now.

ACCESSORIES

Not much excited me this year in terms of handbags, but this leopard tote bag by Madewell is so good. I used to carry their black tote bag to work and it was the perfect size, and I love that this one has some pizzazz going on. As for jewelry, the coin necklace is such a solid piece to have to create a layering effect with your necklaces, the snake earrings are TO DIE FOR (I might even put on through my second hole. #WATCHOUT), and I love the simplicity of the thin gold hoops from Gorjana. I also love that they’re called Gorjana.

ACTIVEWEAR AND LOUNGEWEAR

The two are synonymous nowadays, right? The PJ set reminds me of the Target one I posted years ago—it’s just so cute and comfy and soft. The Nike zip-up hoodie is tight as hell. I love the boxy cut of it. SO cute over leggings with your sneaks! The two tanks from Free People are the exact cut I like to workout in. I love the twist crop because it lays against the top of your waistband perfectly, and the tie-dye one with the bigger arm holes is so cool. ALWAYS have to get a pair of Zella leggings during the NSALE–it’s tradition. And these ones are 7/8 length (ankle), AND have a pocket for your phone which is a huge selling point. As for the bra, we all know I love a high neck bra to keep these knockers in place, and this one looks too good.

BEAUTY

I’m actually so pleased with these four beauty buys this year for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I use and have used Moroccanoil in my hair for YEARS. I use it “get the crunch out of the scrunch,” as curly girls say. When your hair is almost 85% dry with product in it, the cast it sets on your hair is crunch city. I use a pea size of Moroccanoil to clap that shit out! The Kiehl’s hand cream is the best I’ve ever used. It’s super heavy duty but not greasy, and this pandemic has made my hands dry as fuck. I’ve been wanting to try neuLASH and this deal (2 for the price of 1) is ridiculous. Lastly, but certainly not least, the Laura Mercier caviar eyeshadow stick I got during the Sephora sale? NORDSTROM IS SELLING A 3-PACK OF THEM. WHAT? It’s my most favorite eyeshadow now, and I can’t believe you can get this 3 pack. 100% add to cart.

CLOTHES

The clothing options this year left a lot to be desired. Also, a lot of it is already sold out which blows. Nevertheless, these are the 6 pieces that really stood out to me. The square neck bodysuit is just such a winner. It’s a flattering cut on most, and I’m obsessed. The Pink Floyd tee is super casual-cool and easy to dress up or down (“Vintage tee, brand new phone, high heels on cobblestone…”). The chunky white sweater from BDG is perfection. The navy/orange midi chiffon dress is so gorgeous. Who knew orange and navy was such a rich, sultry, bold combo? Love. The cropped jeans have me praying they look good on me. I love them SO deeply, it’s weird. I just love a cropped jean. This short body appreciates them. The grey coatigan is sold out, which makes me want to die, but I linked it anyway because maybe there will be returns and we’ll get lucky. You really never know.

That’s it for me this year, guys. Who knows what will still be available come tomorrow morning, but at least my wishlist is ready to go. Here’s to only buying what you truly need or can’t live without (which I intend to do).

xox,
