What’s In My Bag in US Weekly magazine used to be my SHIT. Looking back, I realize it was probably a bunch of product placement, but it was still the best part of every issue. I’ve seen a few bloggers create posts like this, and it’s always been on my long list of ideas to execute so today, I decided to (artfully) spill the contents of my bag on a fully loaded day because honestly? It’s fun. For me, anyway. Keep scrolling to get the details on my handbag must-haves for a boss bitch on-the-go!

The Bag

I have bad news. I got this bag from Beatnik (of course), and it’s no longer available there or anywhere else. It’s by Melie Blanco, which is a vegan leather handbag company. This is called the Leslie Tote Bag if you want to go on your own hunt! For what it’s worth, I adore this bag and how much it can fit on my fully loaded days.

GUCCI wallet

I’m not big on designer anything, really. I bought my first designer handbag two Halloweens ago in New York and almost threw up in the Gucci store. Gucci is the only luxury line that appeals to me, truthfully. It has character and personality and does a great job of creating high fashion products that are approachable and cool as fuck. Therefore, I very recently treated myself to this hot pink Gucci wallet that Grossy Pelosi had first, and I’ve been daydreaming about. I found it on Tradesy and got the last one, but it’s out there if you search for it.

CAR KEYS

Well, obviously. But the greatest part about my car keys is the “LOCK YOUR FUCKING DOOR” keychain my mom gifted me for Christmas. What’s amazing is she had this keychain wrapped up and ready to gift me before my entire purse + car keys were stolen from my car two weeks before Christmas because I hadn’t locked my car. I am infamous for forgetting to lock doors and cars, so this is entirely fitting.

PROTEIN-HEAVY SNACK

Are you officially old when packing snacks in your large handbag is a necessity? I don’t know—I just like to have an emergency, preferably protein-heavy snack in my bag in case I, like, get caught in rush hour traffic or suddenly become the hulk midday. These blueberry cobbler Quest bars are SO GOOD, OMG. The normal Quest protein bars without the “crunch” are foul, but these. These are worth stashing in your purse.

LAPTOP + LAPTOP SLEEVE

This isn’t your standard laptop sleeve. This thing turns into a stand so you can elevate your computer and type in a more ergonomically-correct fashion, plus it has a little mouse pad situation. I love this thing so much and always always always pack my laptop in it, especially when I’m working away from home for the day (AKA #FoxtrotFriday).

PLANNER

I get a lot of questions about my planner, which I understand because it’s the best. Appointed is the brand, and you can even get it monogrammed like my sis did for me! I love this planner so deeply. It’s week to week, month to month, and has plenty of room for writing out task lists, notes, etc. They make a ton of other products, including notebooks which I have several of, too!

“HOW TO DRINK WINE” Book

I assure you this is not for looks. I legitimately now keep this book in my handbag because I am obsessed with it and obsessed with becoming the simplest somm of all time. My good friend Erik told me about this book, and it’s not only fun and easy to read, but really does make understanding wine so simple. I like to have it on me for when I’m in the wine section, so I can whip it out and make an educated decision. Does that make me a tool? Maybe. But a well-versed tool with good taste in wine.

Airpod Pros are worth the money and I love them. Period.

CUTE PILL CASE

Circling back to my question about whether or not keeping snacks in your bag makes you old or not, same query about pill cases? I need Advil and Ativan on me at all times because you never know when I’m going to have a headache or cramps or a full blown panic attack, and a cute pill case filled with both will always save the day.

HAND CREAM + ALL THE LIP STUFF

Soft hands, subtly tinted lips, can’t lose. Kiehl’s is my favorite hand cream (or salve, I should say). The scent is nice and fresh, and it’s not too thick and greasy but not watery either. With all the hand washing in the last year, I like to keep some in my bag at all times. As for lip stuff, I have 5-7 lip glosses and lipsticks in my bag at any given time but I want to focus on the top three: Glossier’s Lip Gloss in Red, the green lipstick from Amazon, and Laneige’s Lip Glowy Balm. The Glossier lip gloss is really and truly the perfect shine and shade of red without going full-blown lipstick, the green lipstick turns pink when it hits your lips and offers the most perfect pink summer shade ever (I’ve been using it since 2012 and have never stopped), and the Laneige is just the absolute most perfect everyday lip balm. It’s the kind of balm I have to consciously stop myself from applying constantly because it just feels so good when it hits your lips!

CHLOÉ PERFUME ROLLERBALL

I just added this scent to my daily repertoire and I know it’s amazing because Zac literally says “God you smell good” every single time I wear it. He didn’t do that before this perfume, so my baseline is either smelly as shit or my old perfumes didn’t do it for him. Regardless, I am completely in love with this scent and got my bag a rollerball so I can reapply when necessary, especially during the summer when I can’t stop sweating and smelling. Also, it’s perfect for travel!

GO GIRL (FEMALE PEE DEVICE)

Last but absolutely not least is the Go Girl. Zac got this for me as a joke gift for Christmas, but can I tell you how handy this bizarre, silicone urination device is? If you’ve ever a) wondered what it would be like to pee with a penis or b) cursed how inconvenient it is as a female to have a vagina on a road trip, while hiking/camping, or when you’re drunk and walking down the street, you need a Go Girl. What was meant to make me laugh has made me so happy to have in dire situations! I keep this in my bag always and, because it’s silicone, it packs nicely and is very easy to wash. Get one for yourself and all your friends!
