20 Unique Home Decor Gifts
Welcome to 6 days of gift guides. Starting Friday, November 20 to Wednesday, November 25, I will be dropping a new gift guide. They’ll cover everything from the little things to the big things and everything in between. Please remember that just because these guides are labeled doesn’t mean they’re ONLY for that particular person in your life. These guides do not discriminate. They are non-binary. Anything you see across these six guides can be gifted to your mom, dad, sister, friend, boyfriend, fiance, aunt, uncle, mother-in-law, father-in-law—the list goes on. Take the labels with a grain of salt, and buy what feels right for the right person!
Day 2 of my 2020 holiday gift guides is all about the home (you know, that place we’ve been living, working, exercising, cooking, staying in for 7 months straight?)! Make someone’s happy home even happier with something off this super fun gift guide.
Gorgeous, high-quality, custom cutting boards are a stellar gift to give. This Egret Edge Grain Teak Board from Wren is stunning—I would know because I have one and I’ve used it almost every day since I got it! It’s just one of many really stunning wood pieces they offer, but they also do glass and acrylics and even a few bundle gift sets like this one that is perfect. Use code EMMASTHING20 for 20% off your order!
Know someone in dire need of some aesthetically pleasing organization on their bathroom countertop? THIS. I just got it and am obsessed. Plus, they can use it elsewhere, too. In the kitchen as a spice rack of sorts, on their desk as storage—the possibilities are endless.
Ban.do plates and bowls
For so long, I had very straightforward, very boring dishware. Last year, my mom gifted me some updated stuff from West Elm and it turned my life around. I implore you to do the same with these impossibly happy plates and bowls from ban.do! Who wouldn’t be excited to eat off and out of these?
I don’t know what it is about this piece, but I am obsessed with it? It’s perfect. It’s ugly enough that it’s cool as hell. If you know someone deserving enough of such a cool present, gift them this vase. Please. For me.
THE HAPPIEST UTENSILS IN THE KITCHEN! Grossy Pelosi turned me on to these, and they truly have made cooking and baking even more fun. They’ll provide so much happiness to whoever is lucky enough to receive them from you this year.
I’ve yet to make one subpar meal from this cookbook and my group of friends trades DD recipes weekly! Plus, it’s Paleo and Whole30 friendly, so there are some super tasty but super healthy recipes in here.
‘Tis the season to help a friend or family member invest in their home. After all, IT’S THE ONLY PLACE MOST OF US HAVE BEEN FOR GOING ON A YEAR NOW. With so many package deliveries and food deliveries, give someone the gift of security and up their creepy ass spy skills with a Ring doorbell (wow, I should be Ring’s copywriter).
BOOBS! Told you I love boob decor. This is a fun bathmat for your femme friend who isn’t afraid to step on a few tits in her lifetime. Also, love that it celebrates all shapes and sizes cause lord knows no two boobs are the same (not even your own).
The Salt Fat Acid Heat cookbook
I love that Samin’s book includes recipes, yes, but also techniques and general knowledge. This is where the roasted buttermilk chicken came from (best chicken I’ve ever made and ever had. No contest), and there’s so much more to discover in this book. A very clutch gift for the foodie in your life.
I listed this same candle on my 50 gifts under $50 guide, but that was for the smaller size. If you want to go BIG for someone in the way of candles, get their largest size 3-wick for $60. It will last them forever (or until at least February, maybe).
How cool is this apron, though? It’s so professional and serious—I love it. Forget all the frilly aprons you’ve been gifted or gifted to others. Upgrade someone’s cook look with this.
Honestly, can someone get this for me??? It’s so retro, and I love it. What a wonderful departure from boring, plain vases! I don’t know if I love the ugly rug vase or this one more.
These are so pretty and just fancy enough. 4 glasses for $56 is a steal, and these will look so good on someone’s bar cart (but more so in your hand. Let’s be honest).
If the Pottery Barn faux fur blanket is too bland for your recipients color scheme, consider this very similar one from Anthro. It’s massive (70”x60”) and these colors are to die for. I’m personally drawn to the Natural Blue and Citrine, but this isn’t for me to decide.
I have some of these and love them. They’re just a fun departure from your typical coasters, and a gift your host/hostess friend might appreciate (as long as it goes with his/her decor. If they’re basic, they’ll hate these). I got some for my boyfriend in Taos. Not that that means anything, but just thought I’d share.
A simple yet highly effective gift to throw into someone’s stocking! This is on my list. I’m not sure why I haven’t just gotten one yet, but whatever. I love that they’re USB powered so you don’t have to worry about them running out of lighter fluid! A dream.
Female form vases
ALL THE BOHO ZEN VIBES PLEASE! Y’all, I’ve realized with this list that I clearly have a thing for vases? But like, cool vases? Who knew. Anyway, love these pieces of decor very much and want both—the hourglass and the “pear-shaped.” Both are stunning.
Anytime I show myself drinking from these (which is often), I get asked where I got them! My sister gifted them to me last Christmas (at my request), and I LOOOOVE them very much. The layout of the page is a little odd, so just be sure to scroll down so you can cherry pick which ones you want to add to cart!
Listen, I have a blanket ladder and it truly levels up an entire room. I love this guy from Urban so much. He’s handmade from teakwood, too so he’s very special.
Last but literally first is the best blanket ever created from Pottery Barn. I have two myself and will more than likely be giving a few as gifts this year. My dog is obsessed with it, but so am I. We cuddle up in it on the couch and also in bed because I have one there, too. It’s gorgeous to look and even more gorgeous to lay on. The 50”x60” is definitely a bit more of a throw blanket, whereas the 60”x80” is fit for a bed!
