A Chrismukkah Mini Target Run
Today, I did what we all say we’re gonna do: go into Target for one thing and walk out with 9 other one things. However, I loved today’s mini Chrismukkah themed Target run so much, I wanted to throw a quick post together to share the few things I picked up as well as the ingredients for THE BEST PEPPERMINT BARK FUDGE YOU WILL EVER PUT IN YOUR MOUTHS AND THE MOUTHS OF OTHERS.
menorah and candles
Z and I realized this morning that we need a second menorah for his place since I essentially live in two places right now. I knew Target would have one (because they have everything), and I was correct! I got this black one and opted for these gorgeous gold Hanukkah candles to really bring the elegance (it’s all they had but what a great option!). I’m so excited to celebrate with him this year and really bring it home at his place with our Chrismukkah setup.
Christmas tissue paper, stationary, and gift tag stickers
Sadly, I can’t find this adorable tissue paper anywhere on Target.com but keep an eye out for it in-store! I almost got some standard red tissue paper but saw this and had to grab it. I also got this cute set of greeting cards to hand out with my best friends’ gifts, and some very cool gift tag stickers. I feel ready. Ready for the wrapping season (JK, I’m never ready because I’m HORRIBLE at wrapping).
MINI ORNAMENTS AND HOOKS
Do you guys remember when I found this incredible tinsel tree at Target before Thanksgiving even happened? Never forget. I realized it could a few (or several) more ornaments and these mini ornaments are perfect and have the same color scheme! I grabbed a pack of dark green ornament hooks and, when you read this, I’ll probably be hanging up my extra ornaments tbh.
WOVEN WASTEBASKET
This is entirely off-theme, but I spotted these in the Magnolia Home section and immediately grabbed two. I’ve been wanting to update my small trashcans at home, and my gut knew these were the ones. It all happened so fast, but I’m happy to report they’re already in place and perfect!
PEPPERMINT BARK FUDGE FIXINGS
Okay. Last but best, last year I found this incredible peppermint bark fudge recipe, made it for my friends for Christmas and TWICE for my mom (she loved it that much), and now it’s expected I will make it every year. It’s SO simple, so good, and so festive. Here’s the recipe:
Chocolate Layer
1/2 cup + 1 Tablespoon sweetened condensed milk (half a can)
1 and 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 Tablespoons marshmallow creme
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract
White Chocolate Layer
1/2 cup + 1 Tablespoon sweetened condensed milk (half a can)
1 and 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
2 Tablespoons marshmallow creme
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract
1/3 cup crushed candy canes, plus 1 extra Tbsp for garnish
Instructions
Line an 8-inch or 9-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper, leaving enough overhang on the sides to easily remove the fudge once it has set. Set aside.
Chocolate Layer: Combine 1/2 cup + 1 Tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk (half of the can), semi-sweet chocolate chips, and marshmallow creme in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the chocolate chips have melted. Once the mixture is smooth, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts. Spread chocolate layer into the prepared pan, then place in the refrigerator as you make the white chocolate layer.
Wipe the pot clean for round number 2!
White Chocolate Layer: Combine 1/2 cup + 1 Tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk (the rest of the can), white chocolate chips, and marshmallow creme in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the white chocolate chips have melted. This layer will be a little thinner than the chocolate layer. Once the mixture is smooth, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, peppermint extract, and 1/3 cup crushed candy canes.
Pour over chocolate layer and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle with extra candy canes, if desired.
Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight until completely set. Once set, remove the fudge from the baking pan by lifting out the aluminum foil or parchment paper. Peel away foil and cut into 1-inch squares.
Fudge stays fresh covered at room temperature for 1 week or in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks!
Merry Chrismukkah, y’all!
