My Current 7-Minute Everyday Makeup Routine
I’m a creature of habit for the most part, especially when it comes to skincare and makeup. I love to try new things but I do it very carefully and very rarely because my skin errs on the sensitive side, and once I find something that works and I love, I stick with it for a while. The way I’ve been doing my daily makeup lately has garnered some attention from y’all on Instagram, so I decided to put together a reel showcasing exactly what I do to achieve my easy, 7-minute makeup look and am now following up with a written post so you can refer back to this if you’re ever like “Wait. What was that foundation called??” So here we go!
Caliray Free Dreaming Skin Wellness Diffusing Tint: I wanted a tinted moisturizer for the summer and this stuff did the trick. It’s so good, in fact, I might get a lighter color for fall/winter once my tan fades and continue using it alongside my Armani foundation. It’s clean beauty and my skin has had zero reaction to it. A little goes a long way, too. The finish is perfection.
Artis Elite Mirror Oval 7 Foundation Brush: Yes, she’s expensive but boy is she worth it. My friend Amy Jackson posted about the Artis brushes over and over, so I finally followed suit and got this foundation brush. I absolutely love it!
Smashbox x Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector: This stuff is the closest I’ve come to magic. I have it in the medium shade, and it truly corrects the darkness under my eyes and makes me look fresh faced and completely unstressed or tired. I use it even when I’m not doing full makeup because it’s so helpful.
NARS Liquid Blush in Orgasm: I haven’t used powder blush in years; I really don’t like it. It’s just so dry and matte? I moved to stick blush for a long time and, within the last year, introduced liquid blush into my routine and will never look back. It is SO GOOD, and a literal DROP goes the longest way. Not even a full drop, actually—like half a drop is all I use between both cheeks and it gives me that dewy, glowy, rosy finish while looking natural as hell.
Sephora’s PRO Blush Brush: This is brush I use to apply the liquid blush. I don’t wet it or anything fancy—I just apply my half drop of blush to the tip and work it onto my cheeks!
Laura Mercier’s Translucent Setting Powder in Honey: I’ve been using this stuff FOREVER and have written about it 100 times before. I’m so glad they released more color options because the Honey is much more suited for my skin. I don’t use a heavy hand with powder—I lightly dab it under my eyes, on my chin, and my forehead. That’s it!
Mario by Makeup Master Mattes Eyeshadow Palette: GET THIS. If you do nothing else today, buy this for yourself. It’s incredible—every neutral you could dream of in one place, no shimmer, no gimmicks. In fact, the makeup artist I’m using for my wedding is using it on me and swears by it!
Dior’s OnSet Brow Gel: I’m new to this stuff and only introduced it into my routine about 3-4 months ago. I love it. It’s simply great brow gel! I use it in the brown shade to fill my brows in and make them look a bit fuller. Nothing fancy.
Dior’s Eyelash Primer: My friend Merritt Beck of The Style Scribe introduced me to this stuff just a few weeks ago. Her eyelashes always look so good (due in part to using Neulash religiously), and she told me she always primes them with this stuff! I am loving it so far and find it to be very effectie.
Covergirl’s Clump Crusher Mascara: This is Merritt’s second step in her eyelash routine and IT’S SUCH GOOD MASCARA! I used L’Oreal’s Lash Paradise for a long time but feel like they changed up the formula which made it very clumpy and kind of gross. This stuff goes on soooo smooth and all it takes is two coats to make your lashes POP. I use it in Very Black.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: Forget the word “sleeping” in this title. I use this stuff all day, every day. For this specific everyday routine, I’m not looking to put on lipstick so I turn to this stuff for ultra hydration and natural color. Easy peasy!
And this is the final look:
