2021 Gift Guide For Kids & Babies

‘Tis the damn season! Every year, I drive myself to the brink curating gift guides for you guys in an effort to help your holiday shopping feel painless, effortless, and fun. The secret, though, is that I get 90% of my own shopping done while creating these guides, so it’s truly a joyous win-win for all!

Although this year’s 2021 gift guides are labeled, it’s merely for organization. No matter who you’re buying for, browse all six lists to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list and keep your mind open! Happy shopping!

more peas

This is first on the guide because one of my sister’s longtime best friends who I am also friends with (we all went to KU together!) started this company with her business partner. It’s called More Peas, and it’s a collection of snack cups, sippy cups, spoons, and more that have been geniusly engineered to move with you when you’re on-the-go, but also stay put where they’re set. My sister sent me a video demonstrating the product, and even when she was using all her weight to try and move the snack cups and bowls off the counter where she stuck them, they literally didn’t budge. It’s pretty amazing, and I can’t believe someone I know personally is the creator of it all! As a special holiday offer, use code EMMASTHING20 for 20% off your order. You will immediately want to order more, trust me.

LUMI PETS

You guys have to know upfront that my friends with kids helped me curate this entire list because it’s so not my scene (yet). One of my friends told me these LumiPets are all the rage. They look pretty damn cute, and I love that they double as a nightlight and cuddle buddy!

cookies and milk tray

I mean… every child needs a special Santa set up! This could be an early Christmas gift, too. God, I miss the days of setting milk and cookies out for the Clause. Anyway, this set up is exceptionally sweet, and I love that you can also leave a note for the Big Man.

squishmallows

The same friend who told me about LumiPets also told me about Squishmallows, and honestly? I want one. They’re so FREAKING CUTE!!! There are tons of different shapes and sizes to choose from, but I went with the avocado for visual purposes. The watermelon is amazing, too.

alphabet stool

Such a classic keepsake for a kid. My sister and I still have ours, and I fully plan on getting my future kids some of their own. It’s just so sweet and one of the first tangible things they’ll be able to touch and play with that has their name on it!

magnetic faces

I just liked the looks of this game. It’s all magnetic and encourages your little one to imagine all kinds of faces and personalities. Not a big mess or a lot of clean-up either!

floating script

My sister sent me this idea for custom floating script, and I love it. There are a ton of sizes to choose from, and you can customize the appearance, too. I adore it for a little boy or girl’s room, or even for the family room!

HOODED FUR JACKET

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This is so insanely adorable for fall/winter, OMG. I love the green, but also love the brown one, too. Both are just so stylish and adorable to give your little one or gift to your niece or nephew!

The nugget couch

So, my sister sent this my way. It has over 19,000 5-star reviews, so I’m guessing it’s pretty great? It’s configurable play couch that’s made of foam pieces and covered in a super soft microsuede fabric. They can lounge, lay, and play on The Nugget, and it’s available in a ton of colors. If you’re looking for the big ticket item for the playroom this year, this could be it!

2-piece fleece set

If you or someone you know has a child and doesn’t get this for them, I’m going to tell them that Santa isn’t real. Your call.

menorah set

Okay. How adorable??? Educate and encourage your little ones by giving them their own Menorah so they learn all about Hanukkah. I love this!

Garden Book

#PlantZaddy would appreciate this adorable touch and feel book. The Garden Book is incredible for fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and cognitive development. Zippers, ties, snaps, buckles, and puzzles await your child in this book to stimulate their minds and engage their imagination!

coloring book

Speaking of books, you can literally never go wrong with a coloring book. This one from Maisonette is customizable, too, so you can make it extra special for whoever’s receiving it. 34 pages of coloring fun, with a lot of educational moments along the way!

Pop Fidgets

So these are all the rage right now, for ALL ages. I know a 9-year-old who has them and a 1-year-old. I’m partial to the hamburger and fries pop fidget set myself, but I feel like they’re all so fun and you can’t go wrong no matter what you choose!

stacking rings

These are appropriately named SASSY stacking rings because just look at them?! They’re so adorable and fun and happy, and only $8. So if you have or know a newborn, this is a great gift that they’ll be playing with in no time!

"HEAVY JOWLS" BOOK

One of my very own followers wrote a children’s book and it’s available on Amazon! WHAT?! She, too, has a bulldog just like Bowie, so the story centers around Grouse the bulldog. The book description is “Heavy Jowls is a heartwarming tale centered around an unlikely friendship that develops between a tiny yet high-spirited flea and a grumpy old English bulldog.” I’m getting a copy for us and for my niece and nephew! I’m so happy for this follower and thinks it’s incredible she wrote and published this book.
