My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

Based off a poll I took a few weeks ago on my Instagram stories, my audience does not live or die by the NSALE, which means I’ve done something right in attracting the right kind of people to my page. The Nordstrom Sale has gotten very tired over the years; throughout high school and college, it was the end all be all for my family and me. We always made a day of it, and it was always such a rush. In more recent years, though, the product has gotten blah. That’s why this year, I told myself I wasn’t going to bother. I wasn’t going to waste my time looking because I already decided there would be nothing.

But I didn’t abide by my own feelings. Just this morning, I decided to sit down and just take a peek. I skipped past most of the basics that I’ve seen plugged over and over again in the last week and went right to the more interesting stuff (or so I think) and ended up finding a few pieces I wanted to share with you guys in case you’re shopping and looking for a few solid pieces this year. Full disclosure: I have not tried any of this on, I literally just ordered it all this morning. I will share what I end up loving and keeping when everything arrives next week!

  1. BB Dakota Cora Long Sleeve Dress in Green: I am a sucker for a mini dress with long sleeves, especially for the fall/winter here in Dallas. I also am a sucker for green clothing (as this collage clearly demonstrates), so I had to grab this and see how it looks!

  2. Free People Swim Too Deep Turtleneck Sweater: This is a repeat from last year and, because I didn’t get it last year, I decided to try it this year. It’s super popular for a reason, so I’m interested to see how I like the oversized, super cozy fit. I went with black, but the cream and blue are gorgeous as well.

  3. Sweaty Betty Explorer Zip Jacket: Sweaty Betty is a new brand to me. I feel like I’ve heard of it, but have never seen any product. Obviously, this green zip jacket grabbed my attention immediately. I love the slouchy, tall neck and full zip. It just looks very cool.

  4. Sweaty Betty Explorer Tapered Athletic Pants: Obviously had to get the matching pants. I am really hoping these work because they just look so comfortable and like the perfect adventure pants!

  5. Sweaty Betty Stride Water Resistant Hooded Nylon Parka (NOT PICTURED): I forgot to put this on the collage and was too lazy to go back and rework it, so forgive me. However, this is another one I am hoping works out because I love everything about it. It could be the perfect honeymoon parka for Italy! We shall see…

  6. Sam Edelman Circus Savanna Sandal: Funnily enough, I don’t have black heeled sandals in any way, shape, or form. These are $50 and got great reviews, so I decided to order them and try them out! I have a feeling they’ll be super comfortable; we can already see they’re versatile af.

  7. Nordstrom Houndstooth Blazer: Blazers are hard, so I don’t have high hopes for how this one might actually fit but I was willing to order and take a chance. I love the look of it; it’s very iconic in terms of a houndstooth blazer. It’s very chic, and I’m hoping it looks great unbuttoned so I can treat it more like a jacket!

  8. Red Knit Scarf: My other favorite color? Red. And I don’t have a red scarf, so this was a shoe-in. Hoping it’s just as vibrant in person!

  9. Marc Fisher Yarita Pointed Toe Bootie: These were an absolute must for me. I love the low heel (1.5”) and all brown suede, plus the accordion-like body for ultimate comfort. I need an upgrade in terms of my brown suede fall booties, and I know these will be it!

  10. Rails Rumi Smocked Sleeveless Dress: I LOVE Rails. They deliver high-quality, cute, comfortable product and, since I’ve been subtly looking for a longer black summer dress, lightly gasped when I saw this number. I’m very excited about it and hoping it looks good on me. I’m already picturing it with a jean jacket and booties for fall, too!

  11. Moonlight Comfort Layer Tank: This is so specific, but I’m always reaching for a soft, comfy tank top to sleep in and never have one. It’s like looking in the fridge for a snack you KNOW you don’t have, but you look anyway hoping maybe it magically appeared. That said, I bought two of these tank tops in grey frost heather and pink night and they will serve solely as sleeping tank tops!

That’s it, guys! Like I said, I will be following up with what I actually keep in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
